  About the College

Srinivasan College of Nursing was established in the year 2011 under Srinivasan Charitable and Educational Trust with an aim to prepare qualified nurses to provide competent and comprehensive Nursing care based on scientific knowledge and humanistic values across various settings. Srinivasan College of Nursing is located on NH Chennai - Trichy Main road, Siruvachur, Perambalur. The college measures 45,760 sq.ft with all infrastructure facilities including class Room, Labs, Library, Play ground and Auditorium. Parent Hospital is Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Medical College Hospital, Siruvachur. (The college is recognized by the Govt of Tamilnadu, approved by the Indian Nursing Council and affiliated to the Tamilnadu Dr.M.G.R Medical University).

Vision of Srinivasan College of Nursing is to propagate socially meaningful Health care; Nursing Education and Research will adherence to moral, legal and ethical values.

Mission

       To build all round and overall development of the nursing students by providing balance between curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.
       To organize, sequence and integrate the teaching learning activities to involve explicit and implicit curriculum.
       To focus on attitude building and personality development of nursing for provision of excellent quality patient care.
       To prepare the nursing students to at current nursing challenges and demands of the society.
       To develop leadership skills and group dynamics among nursing students.
       To promote collaborative holistic patient care.

Philosophy

We the management and the faculty of the college of nursing believe that nursing is a service oriented profession based on scientific knowledge which assists people in achieving their maximum health potential.

It is also believed that Nursing is a health service provide to individuals families and community for prevention of diseases, promotion, conservation, restoration and maintenance of optimum health.

We believe that Professional Nurse is the one who possess intellectual competencies and professional skill acquired through higher education in a University. Nursing knowledge is derived from physical, biological behavioral sciences and humanities and research applied to the practical field.

It recognize that nature of nursing is a potential portion of students learning is acquired in the clinical area through practice.

The faculty future believe that nursing education has as its major purpose the development of a broadly prepared self fulfilling concerned citizen, Secure in his / her own potentialities in her / his community and world with a deep respect for those with differing cultures, values and morals.

Aims

Prepare graduates to assume responsibilities as professional competent Nurse and Midwives in providing promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative services.

Prepare nurses who can make independent decision in nursing situations, protect the rights and facilitate individuals and groups in purist of health, function in the hospital, community nursing services and conduct research studies in the areas of nursing practice. They are also expected to assume the role of teacher, supervisor and manager in a clinical and public health setting.

Objectives

       B.Sc., Nursing Programme is designed to prepare the students to.
       Perform as a competent professional beginning practitioner of nursing in a variety of health care settings.
       Function effectively as member of interdisciplinary health care setting.
       Function effectively as a member of Interdisciplinary health team and as a leader of nursing team.

       Be eligible for licensure and for entrance into graduate of nursing education.
